Does time seem to fly by? Do you find yourself in disbelief that another month has passed? I know I do! It is hard to believe that the unofficial end to summer is this weekend. As we are about to welcome another season, it is a great time to hit the pause button and examine the past few months. What went well this summer? What fed your soul and gave you life? What was draining? What do you want to stop? What does the fall now make possible?
Sometimes you sense a call from something…a defining moment when you are led to give something up. It could be an attitude, an activity, or a way of being. Other times we are called to something…to live differently because we understand who we are meant to be. It’s rarely easy or convenient, but God calls us to this place because He knows that it will bring us life.
Here are some examples…
A call to writing
A call to being
A call to health
A call to connecting in community
A call to being closer to God
A call to accepting limits
A call to quiet
A call to trust God and allow Him to care for me
A call to be myself
A call to change
A call from busyness
A call from a critical spirit
A call from trying to control the outcome
A call from worry and doubt
A call from wasting time
A call from quitting things half-way through
A call from working non-stop
A call from doing things out of guilt
How about you? What are you being called to or from in this next season? What do you need, beyond anything else, in order to have healing and wholeness? What energizes you? What brings you life? What do you want to be about?
As summer comes to a close, take some time to stop and review. It will help you transition well into this next season!
